I've had one go off near me in cqb with the 120db charge its not that bad ,certainly didn't jump 4foot .The main concern is how the vent the hot gasses ,if someone accidentaly droped one in your lap. They certainly wouldn't be as bad with the smaller charge.

why do they have to make these things so bloody loud, tbh half that volume and people will still notice.

its a shame because i am longing for something with a proper spoon on it (dinatechs have to sesnsative a spoon and not able to wedge it)

No problem wedging them in doors and under logs - do it quite often and have never had an issue, just takes some practice.

My personal issue is that if someone uses a 12 gauge in a BFG you only need to collect the nade to check, as there wont be an adapter and the cartridge will remain. Hence - sin bin or ban the player.

The issue with these grenades as mentioned is the venting, also the ability to use higher power charges than those allowed, and the evidence is destroyed when used, so harder to prove incorrect use of charges.

On the topic of dB levels & saftey:

I would agree with small enclosed space + 120dB = not safe. Although 120dB in the open isn't safe if it goes off near you and you're not wearing decent hearing protection.

Guess it's a case of forcing players to wear hearing protection as well as saftey glasses to protect both sight and hearing or only allowing lower dB pyro's/BFG's.

BFG's can be monitored, if someone isn't using an adapter then it is easy to check unlike other devices.

Your local hearing protection nut
