Red Dawn – Team Selection

There are four sides to choose from in this scenario: the Russians/Cubans (the communist invaders) and the US forces/Wolverines. Below I will give a brief description of the kit needed for each side and the roll of that force within the scenario.


Russians
Kit Required: Greens DPM / US woodland / Flectarn any other green camo pattern clothing. An AK if possible, if not any RIF will do.

Roll: The communists' battle force main roll will be take and hold. Mass battle tactics will be used (basically the big blunt end of the stick!). In the film there was a huge fight between the US forces and the Russians heavy weapons assault and defence units. This team will also play a defensive roll in escorting convoys, etc.


Cubans
Kit Required: Olive clothing – basically any plan green clothing and a Cuban(Castro) hat if possible.

Roll: The role of this team will be 'anti-terrorist' – controlling members of public. There will be lots of sub-missions throughout the weekend and your job will be to disrupt attacks and capture the other forces. There will also be missions involving hunting rebel forces.


US Forces
Kit Required: Any US kit / desert kit (not US green kit).

Roll: Defence of your main compound and sorties into enemy territory. This will be a very challenging as you will be out numbered. There will also be numerous sub-missions to be completed.


Wolverines
Kit: Civilian clothing.

Roll: Pure mayhem! Lots of terrorist activity – from convoy assaults to achieving objectives behind terrorist lines.
